Workshop med Mary Holland 14. april
Knowing what you want
Workshop for Alexanderteknikk-lærere
Lørdag 14. april 10.30-15.00
«Stallen», Norsk Skuespillersenter, Welhavens gate 1, Oslo
Mary Holland om workshopen:
“Knowing what you want – but not trying too hard to get it”. A practical workshop in which we will look for ways to improve how we use ourselves in daily life and, of course, in teaching. In the second half of the workshop, applying inhibition and direction, we will pay special attention to avoiding any overuse of our arms when using our hands.
Om Mary Holland:
Mary Holland had the good fortune as a young girl to have one lesson with F. M. Alexander himself. She was qualified as a teacher of the Alexander Technique by Walter and Dilys Carrington in 1970. She then worked with them at the Constructive Teaching Centre for fourteen years, teaching part- time in the school and giving private lessons. She introduced the technique to two Drama Schools in London, and has taught in workshops in Holland, France, Switzerland and USA. Until 1983 she taught in London and from 1984 till 2013 she lived and worked in Munich, where she founded a Training Course for teachers. Now based in the UK she still makes regular teaching visits to Munich.
